I know, not cool. This is our final call for submissions for the UpstArt Contemporary Gallery. For this event we would like to extend an opportunity for you to go ALL OUT. This exhibition is an invitational, we would like every artist that’s ever been kind enough to be involved with UpstArt to show the one piece they thought would never be shown in a gallery. Give us the riskiest, most challenging, most personal, most provocative work you have. This show is the culmination of our mission, which was to provide a forum for contemporary artists of any age or standing to join a dialog with no fear of judgment or limitation.
We are holding a formal reception Saturday October 10th, 2009 at 6pm. This is also a “going away” party for all of us at UpstArt who are beginning new lives and new endeavors. We thank everyone for their support and friendship, and fantastic art. Everyone rose to the occasion in ways we never thought possible and we really can’t thank you all enough for this opportunity.

UpstArt is proud and excited to announce “Alchemie” a new body of work by Laura Colomb. Recently named “Best Emerging Regional Curator” by The Metroland, Colomb’s newest body of work contains elements of Adirondack landscape and nature.
This show is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Friday and Saturday 11-5pm, Sunday 12-4pm. (This will be UpstArt’s last solo exhibition, a group show is slated for October as a farewell exhibition. More information to follow.)

“Babies in Bondage”
UpstArt is honored to present TOT, an installation by renowned artist collective TODT.
The artist collective TODT will open an installation at UpstArt Gallery called TODT TOT. To what extent should society protect children? If we prevent children from making mistakes and experiencing the perils of life, are we adequately preparing them for their future? TODT’s sardonic and relevant installation includes sculpture, drawing and painting. Please join us for a reception with the artists at UpstArt Gallery on June 13th from 5pm and an artist’s talk on June 18th at 6pm.
